Bea is the heart behind Short and Sweet. With over 20 years of experience as a pastry chef, baking isn’t just her skill – it’s her language. Every cake, cheesecake, and little detail is made from scratch with care, precision, and a whole lot of love. For Bea, great baking is about more than technique. It’s about flavour, feeling, and creating something that brings people together.

Meet Mom/Sonia
Retired from the classroom, recruited by cake

Every kitchen has its secret ingredient – ours is Sonia, Bea’s mom. After retiring from a long and meaningful career teaching consumer studies, she joined the Short and Sweet team just as the business was beginning to grow. With her quiet precision, calm energy, and deep love for quality, she brings a steady hand and a warm heart to everything she touches. Whether she’s prepping, organising, or keeping the studio running smoothly, she’s an essential part of what makes this place feel like home.
