Your go-to guide for all things Short and Sweet

Helpful info, hot out the oven

Do you deliver?

Yes, we do offer delivery (within the Cape Town area only). Delivery is charged separately and calculated based on the distance from our studio to your location.

Our courier service specialises in handling delicate orders like ours with the utmost care and professionalism. So no need to worry! Your cake will arrive safely, beautifully, and ready to impress.

The short and sweet answer? The sooner, the better!

All our cakes are made to order and depend on our availability. We offer a limited number of website order slots each month, and they tend to fill up quickly, especially during busy seasons.

Online orders close 48 hours before the collection or delivery date (depending on the cake), unless we’re fully booked earlier.

We wish we could say yes every time, but it really depends on our schedule.

Spots fill up quickly and everything is made to order, so we can’t always guarantee urgent requests.

That said, send us an email, and if there’s any way we can help, we’ll absolutely try!

We do work with nuts in our kitchen, so while we will always do our best to avoid cross contact, we cannot guarantee a nut-free environment.

If you have a nut allergy, please let us know when placing your order.

All orders are placed at your own risk, and we encourage you to read our Terms and Conditions for more details.

You can, however it all depends on the change and how much notice we have.

Send us an email at least 5 days before your collection date and we will let you know if we can make it work.

*Please note that all changes must be confirmed by email. We are not able to accept updates through phone or social media (this is just to keep things tidy on our end).

We require full payment upfront to confirm your order. It helps us plan, prep and bake with a whole lotta love and care!

To enjoy your cake at its best, we recommend eating it within 48 hours of receiving it. If it includes fresh fruit or flowers, it is ideal to serve it the same day for peak freshness.

Once you have your cake, store it in the fridge until you are ready to serve. When it is time, let it come to room temperature so the flavour and texture can shine (no one loves a cold cake).

As a general guide:
Cool weather: Take it out 3 to 6 hours before serving
Warm weather: Take it out 1 to 1.5 hours before serving

Use your judgment though! On very hot days, it is safer to leave it in the fridge a little longer. Cakes soften quickly in the heat, especially the buttery ones.

A few extras:

– Never use the microwave to warm up your cake
– Keep it away from direct sun or heat
– Got leftovers? Lucky you! Cake freezes beautifully. Wrap it well and tuck it into the freezer for a future treat.

If you are collecting your cake, keep your car cool with the aircon on and place the cake box flat on the floor, not on the seats.

Once you get home or to your venue, pop it in the fridge until you are ready to serve. Let it come to room temperature before enjoying for the best flavour and texture.

We do not recommend driving with a cake for more than 4 hours (it is a little too risky for comfort!)
